The anime version is often broadcast on Chinese children's channels, and I remember spending my free time during the summer vacations and watching around at home.

The story takes place in China in the 19th century, Ryu Maosin (Mao), who has passed the youngest and most chef-qualified chef in history, finds eight legendary kitchen utensils scattered all over China with his fellow chefs.

The anime version of Cooking Master Boy that was broadcast in Japan from 1997 to 1998 is so popular that it is broadcast on TV stations in about 80% of cities in China, and the total number of plays on each Chinese distribution site is over 600 million times.
