STORY 7 : Why are Japanese strawberries sweet? ?

Muslim drink beer, Korean otaku on graduation trip before military service, a miracle Taiwanese
hearing-impaired lesbians couple, and the last time I introduced encounter with Japanese who
finished the mission of JICA and returned to Japan after contributing to society around the world!

Only one month!

I am surprised that cross-cultural communication is so intense, but every day if full of laughter!

And at that time, the season began to warm gradually from February to March, and I started to hear
spring footsteps in Wako City, Saitama Prefecture where I live!

At that time, an unexpected story was born from the first conversation with a couple from Bangkok,
Thailand, and then a popular inbound guest spot was born in Wako City, so I'll introduce to you
right now!

We're going to pick strawberries!

They told me as soon as I checked in.

“Shinji! We're going to pick strawberry tomorrow!”

"I can't believe you could eat all-you-can-eat strawberry in Japan!"

“So, we are going to sleep early tonight because we are early in the morning!”

I heard that they get up early to go pick strawberries and I felt strange, so I asked them.

“Where do you pick strawberries?”

"Chiba!"

I was amazed at the pure response that came out with sparkling eyes like a child with a Christmas
present in front of me!

If you have been on your way from Narita, it would be unreasonable for you to take a train again from
Wako City and go hunting for strawberries near Narita and come back on a day trip!

Ah, I felt that foreigners' geography was sloppy and I told them.

“If you wanna pick strawberries, you can do it in 10 minutes by car from my house!”

“OMG! Really, Shinji! We want to go there!”

This time, they are staring at me with the face of a puppy drooling as if they said "Wait!"

"OK! Then let's go picking strawberries from morning with my children tomorrow!"

They smiled and went into bed!

A 30-minute match! Eat as much as you want!

Wako, where I live, is located next to Itabashi Ward, and is commonly called “Saitama Tomin”.
Arakawa flows through the city, and there are still large fields near the river.

A few years ago, a large plastic house was built in the wide field, and it became a popular spot for
local families as a strawberry picking in the city.

A Thai couple trying to pick strawberries for the first time in their life. I entered the first plastic
greenhouse and was given condensed milk.

Of course, the staff at Strawberry Farm can't speak English, so I told them in English.

“A game of 30 minutes! Eat as much as you want!”

"Let's start!!!"

They enjoyed their first strawberry picking for 30 minutes, eating strawberry until they were really full!

Why are Japanese strawberries sweet? ?

Apparently, Japanese strawberry picking seems to have been expanded by word of mouth as an
experience menu.

After that, there were many guests who said, “I want to pick strawberry!”, So I brought several people
like this until Golden Week in May!

The next year, Strawberry Farm owner prepared an English menu, and when I was interviewed by a
public relations in Wako City, it was introduced that "foreigners staying in vacation rental often come."!
At that time, it was only me who doing rental in Wako City, so it was great for my family! ? Lol

And all the foreign guests who have eaten strawberry kept saying to me.

“Shinji, why are Japanese strawberries sweet? Berry is sour?”

Not only strawberries, but tomatoes, eggplants, pumpkins, and Japanese vegetables are all sweet
and improved? Because all Japanese people like sweet food!

Of course, Google and my English, so there is no guarantee that it is communicated in this way, but
somehow it was communicated to everyone.

From around this time, I have clearly sought the desire “Oh! Because there are so many guests from
all over the world, I want to be able to speak more English!”

The source of motivation is desire and curiosity!

There are only about 10 people, but obviously my heart has a desire to “communicate more with
guests!” And a curiosity “want to know what kind of sensibilities foreign guests have!”

If you think about it again, it's a matter of course.

Although I was not interested in studying when I was a child, I was forced to study. However, baseball,
soccer, make a secrect base, playing in the river, and summer camp were quick and easy to learn
because of the desire and curiosity to do more fun!

"If you want to learn a foreign language, finding a foreign boyfriend or girlfriend is a shortcut"

This is not a vulgar story, it is a fact that has always been common throughout the world.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a foreign girlfriend yet. However, as a result of continuing this
life for five years, now it is now possible to go drinking with a foreigner as usual!

“Always remember your desire and curiosity!”

The most important thing in intercultural communication

From now on, someone enters and exits my house almost every day.

That's a great story, I took photos with all the guests and recorded their names, but the biggest
challenge was unfortunately the face and name did not match ...

Next time, I will introduce the most important thing in intercultural communication that I felt and
experienced in the first 3 months!

See you ! !
