STORY 50 : Do It Yourself!(#DIY)
Hello! I am Shinji - project manager of 73eats! I am now, has developed the 73eats application which "anyone can understand menu from around the world" to inbound guest.
lp.73eats.com (Download so we can know about each other country's foods)
Even if working at guesthouse, there are many jobs to do.
Check-in and check-out and cleaning obviously have to do, daily cooking, guiding a neighborhood shop, drinking alcohol together, really a lots!
Meanwhile, I've always liked DIY, so I did a lot of repairs to the inn's facilities!
Today I would like to introduce it!
Japanese paper wall is punching game!
My inn was a Japanese style guesthouse, so each room had shoji (障子).
However, since it is a small room, if a foreigner repeatedly puts in a large baggage and goes in and out repeatedly, the shoji will often break.
At that time, I change the shoji with college students who work part-time.
If you make shoji work like this, it'll turn out a fun game!
If all broke
Peel off everything properly and start pasting!
If you reattach it cleanly like this, perfect!
Make a bamboo chair!
Next, I got a big green bamboo from my old friend, so I made a Bamboo chair by myself!
First, break this green bamboo
I brought it to the inn like this!
At a construction site in the neighborhood, I got scraps and made a skeleton
Bamboo chair is completed by nailing green bamboo with nails!
As a bonus, you can also make toys like this! Lol
I'm carpenter!
Finally the floor insulation work!
Our inn was bare concrete and the first winter was so cold! So in the second year, we did our own insulation work so that we would not have the same trouble!
Cold floor that was directly in the concrete in this state
Remove the counter and clean it up and start!
In a wooden frame
Insulate with insulation
Put a veneer board
If we all put a bond on the tile carpet and line it up on the veneer
Yes! It's done!
This was quite effective and the winter of the second year wasn't cold at all!
The children in the neighborhood who helped me were also happy and interesting!
Stay creative and #DIY
Have a nice weekend my friends!
